Funding and Support for Faculty Labs and Centers through Student Time

Graduate Assistant Positions: Utilize graduate students to support ongoing research within labs and centers, providing financial incentives for students while advancing lab goals.
Undergraduate research funding in partnership with other Centers, Labs, and Faculty programs.
Funding a doctoral student for APS that can help support faculty initiatives.

Research Collaboration

Faculty Research and Practice Grants: Establish grants designed for collaborative research enhances professors’ work to develop innovative research, tools and methodologies, and/or practice.
Develop Collaborative Research Tools that can be utilized by any professor.
Partnerships: Funded opportunities for faculty and students to assist in APS lead programming

Professor/Student Pitch Days with Donors and Experts

Semester Pitch Days: Semesterly events where professors and students can pitch research ideas or projects to donors and industry experts, creating a bridge between academic work and funding sources.
Interactive Workshops where students and professors are trained on how to effectively present their research ideas to potential funders, with emphasis on communication and pitching techniques.

Professional Development Workshops for GMU

Collaborative Workshops: Joint professional development workshops that focus on tech-related topics benefiting scholarship, practice, and professional development.
Guest Speakers and Experts.
Career Pathways Guidance: Workshops that help students navigate career opportunities in non-profits and the private sector, with a focus on internships, post-doctoral positions, and job placement.

APS offers a 30-minute consultation on commercial considerations such as product/market fit, monetization, and potential for intellectual property protection.*

Fellowships and Seminars for Undergraduates

Torchbearers Fellowship in partnership with the Athletic Department and Veterans Office.
The Aspiring Peacebuilders Seminar is devoted to engaging and educating students and recent graduates on the theory and practice of peacebuilding.
